Adair Ford Boroughs Launches 2020 Campaign for South Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District
SC-02 is ready to Ma’am Up; let’s get to work

Columbia, SC--Today, Adair Ford Boroughs formally launched her campaign for Congress in South Carolina’s 2nd District. A lifelong advocate for equality and justice, Adair is an accomplished attorney who has dedicated her career to fighting for fairness for everyday Americans and their families.

“People in our district are working tirelessly to build a better life for their families, and we deserve a Representative who will work just as hard to make sure those families have a chance to get ahead,” said Adair. “My whole life has been about beating the odds, and helping others do the same, and that’s what I want to do in Congress.”

Adair announced her run for Congress in an announcement video on her website (www.AdairForCongress.com) and an email to supporters.

Adair Ford Boroughs grew up in a double-wide trailer in Williston, South Carolina, a small town in the 2nd District. Her parents, a cabinet maker and a public-school teacher, raised her with a deep commitment to her Christian faith and family. She worked hard, graduated as valedictorian of Williston-Elko High School, received a full scholarship to Furman University, and, after teaching high school math in Greenville County Schools, attended Stanford Law School, where she graduated with honors.

Turning down big salaries at large law firms, Adair began her legal career at the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., where she represented the American people by going after corporations and millionaires who cheated on their taxes. She later worked for U.S. District Judge Richard M. Gergel and then helped launch Charleston Legal Access (CLA), a nonprofit law firm that provides affordable legal services to those in the middle—those who don’t qualify for free legal aid but cannot afford the high cost of private attorneys.

“Because of Adair, we’ve been able to help a heck of a lot of people,” said CLA board member and South Carolina attorney, Patrick Wooten. Fellow CLA board member and community leader, Caroline Mauldin, added, “Adair is a force to be reckoned with, and the fact that she’s applying her energies to public service is such a gift to South Carolina.” Chris Bryant, a South Carolina attorney who worked with Adair at the United States District Court and is also a CLA board member, said of Adair: “She gets the job done. She gets it done every single time. She’s dependable, and that’s the type of person you need in Congress.”

If you’re ready for a leader that will roll up her sleeves and get to work for families in the 2nd District, then please go to www.AdairForCongress.com to learn more.
