Adair Ford Boroughs Announces Largest Opening Quarter by a Democrat in SC-02 History
The first-time candidate raised over $245,000, outpacing a 17-year Republican Incumbent
Columbia, SC--Adair Ford Boroughs, candidate for United States Congress in South Carolina’s 2nd district, announces today the Adair for U.S. Congress campaign has raised $245,646 since launching in April 2019. The number is the largest opening quarter for a Democrat in the district’s history.
The campaign outraised Republican incumbent Representative Joe Wilson more than 2-to-1. Adair has pledged to take no corporate PAC dollars. In contrast, 60% of Wilson’s money raised was from special interests and corporate PACs.
“This seat doesn’t belong to the lobbyists of corporate PACs. It belongs to the people of the 2nd District.” Said Adair, “I want to thank everyone who is generously giving what they can to this campaign, be it their time volunteering, or one dollar. Your contributions are powering a movement that shows South Carolina is ready for new leadership.”
This week, the campaign also announced an official kick-off event on July 28th in Williston, South Carolina. More information on the event can be found here: bit.ly/AdairKickoff
